That boy should NOT have been surfing in those dangerous conditions! Seas such as this should be avoided when undertows are present. There were probably sandbars which are dangerous and unpredictable. He is lucky to not have suffered a spinal chord injury or even drowning.
Well, at least you can spell "pedant." But if you could define it, you would realize it does not apply to those who believe that intelligent people should be able to spell common words.
