Lost in Translation

In honor of the Lost theme (TV show), these pics were sent in by reader John Locke.

For those of you buying Chinese Popout surfboards, here's the beach experience that you can get in China...truly conducive to the surf livestyle.

Here comes a setwave.

Post-session grinds, they've got 'em!

Now, think twice before you buy that nice new shiny surfboard with that "Made in China" sticker on it!

That's Korea, unless I'm mistaken and there just happen to be 10,000 Korean umbrellas in China.

"Foreign boards suck!" say the people who drive to the beach in Toyotas, watch Toshiba televisions. Listen to Sony stereos and consume thousands of dollars per year in other Asian products.

I don't give a shit what you ride. Just don't drop in on me.

John Locke claimed China. What do I know.

Anonymous, apples and oranges my friend. Does your stereo have a soul? my surfboards do...made in the USA by surfers that I know! thanks.

Check out the gangsta in the second picture with the "50 Cent" shirt.

Chinks are funny...oh wait, I'm one of them.

I've yet to see a board marked in any way "Made In China". They seem to be exempt from those import rules. Everything else I buy seems to be marked that way, and it's not my choice, it's all there is in the store. You can thank labor unions for driving the manufacturing jobs to Mexico, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, etc. etc. Ford's new model will be assembled in Mexico, gee, I wonder why...

LOL - I bet surfboard production makes up less than 0.0000001% of China's GDP - they would get a hoot knowing how worked up some people get. Suff bahd? What is Suff Bahd??
