I Was Almost Correct...

It wasn't a SUP, but a goat boat! Pushing the limits at Wedge. Photo from  thomasjsebourn.com.

Honorable mention, reader Carl sent the pic in as well. Thanks for thinking of us Carl.

Not a goat boat, it's a surfski. I saw one surfing Teahupo'o. They deserve some respect.

No props for large watercraft in a crowded line-up at the Wedge douche burger. But, maybe an involuntary man-slaughter with added indifference will be the order fulfilled at the daily donkey.

God I'm glad this blog is back so that donkeys on surfskis can due respect.

Hiro, goat boat or surf ski, no matter. I think his choice in this case is incredibly selfish. No respect from me.

It would have been bad enough if a longboarder was greedheaded enough to go out knowing that if a rogue set (and there's always a rogue set on a big day) broadsided him, he would take out several people inside, but for some arrogant jerk to think he would get glory in a surfski at the Wedge w/o thinking of any consequences---COME ON, KOOK, TAKE IT BACK TO THE MARINA AND LEARN HOW TO PLOT A COURSE FIRST. MAYBE KNOWING HOW TO SWIM WOULD HELP TOO. Thank you, WYD, for showing the OARons horning in on surf spots these days. Bob L.

and that's South African born Rich Sprout-now a member of the 2011 US Kayak team, Firefighter for the City of Anaheim, and Newport Beach Lifeguard so he knows the Wedge just enough to paddle his Fenn through there. http://usack.org/athletes/rich-sprout

Photo is not from surfline; photo should be credit of thomasjsebourn.com. Surfline clearly lists me as the owner. And why would you think this is a "photoshop?" If I were to photoshop it, I'd have the kayaker eating it.

Sorry Thomas, photo credit updated.
