Union Tribune

Apparently, The SD UT ran this pic on their front page yesterday and it created quite a stir on various surfing message boards. Personally, it doesn't surprise me anymore. Swamis in all its glory. Photo Charlie Neuman and sent to me by my friend Bob.

A Reminder

This summer has been nothing but a string of injuries for me. Reader rick posted this on another board and reminded me of what I have to look forward to locally this winter. God, I love surfing Swarmies.

The Swamis Paradigm

As a North County surfer, I do my best to avoid Swami's as often as possible. Why? Because Swami's seems to be devolving constantly. It has become all about who can ride the bigger board to get more waves. It has gotten to the point that in order to catch a wave out there, you've got to be on a board so big that it cannot turn.

Our buddy Steamroller has now taken this concept to SUP. Good luck Steamroller, I hope that you're happy. Devolve peacefully.

The Circus Is In Town

A few shots from my phone of the circus at Swamis this morning. I was out of the water by 7:15 due to the large proportion of surfers bobbing for apples and getting in the way.

Gridlock and lookiloos on PCH.

Fox News, must be a slow news day.

How many time have you gone to the circus and seen a helicopter?

The Peanut Gallery was four deep in spots.

The Point...

It's always interesting at The Point. Tomorrow should be no exception, which means that I'll be taking a pass. Here's one to get everyone in the mood. Pic from Surfshot.

Friday Takeoff Zone!

Just another day of seven people fighting for the same wave. I think the only place that is worse is on the Goldie at the superbank. Pic from Surfshot.

We need some winter juice to thin out the Donkey population!
