We've all seen the pics of the Cardiff Statue all dressed up, but rarely do we get the pulled-back view. This is probably not the reaction that the City of Cardiff envisioned when they approved the installation of the now-famous Surfer Statue. Yes, Cardiff, they are laughing at you.

Idle Time

Reader Rick has some serious idle time. He proves to us that Cardiffman really was based after a real surfer!

So the city of Encinitas commissioned this work of "art", recently unveiled, that is rubbing the surf community the wrong way. I'm not sure, but I think it officially designates Cardiff as the donkey capital of the world.


Like it or not, it's been great fodder for the photoshop artists.
