Support your local surfboard craftsmen! My apologies for the language on the pic...but then again, this isn't a family website.

I'd love to know the story behind this pic. Is it a random Euro in a suit who stumbled across a group of surfers and wanted to take a pic with a board for his grandkids, or some legend holding one of his early crafts? We'll never know. Either way, I enjoyed the pic and found it here.

A Couple From the Road

Here are a couple shots from my recent trip up the California coast. The first kept me out of the water at a very sharky surf spot north of Big Sur. The second just scared me. It was found in a town in Central California that was the last place I expected to see the SUP Pimp in action.

I've been out of the water for much of the year due to injury and I'm going to try to shake the rust off on a solo trip up the California coast. Well, the ASP has come back to North County....and at my home break to boot! At least they chose a year when the sandbar is anemic and the tide is draining through the jetties in the middle of the heats each day. Hopefully they will not come back next year!
